 RCCG The King's Parish was started in June 1999, following the leading of God upon Pastor Phillip Oyetunji to begin a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in Hackney, East London. The Church was graciously blessed to start with quite some ample number of committed brethren with children that are large enough for us to fill a school classroom. To the glory of God, it has now grown to a wonderful congregation that has given birth to many other RCCG parishes all around the nation. The immediate areas of focus of the Church have been on godly revival and evangelism in the considered post-Christian nation of the United Kingdom. Therefore, we are a praying Church, for Jesus Himself said, "My House shall be called a House of Prayer" (Mt.21:13). God has proved Himself faithful, as shown by various wonderful testimonies from the Church members. Further, this nation has such a rich history of great men of God and kings who loved and served Him passionately, and who brought the hand of God down for good upon their generation. Therefore, we are interested in networking with other churches to pray and intercede for the land until there is national godly revival and love for worship and righteousness again. Also, we are keen on the restoration of families and godly children and youths.
The Ten-Fold Mission Statement of the Church is as follows:
General (Relating to the global RCCG)
- To get to heaven.
- To take as many as possible with us.
- To have a member of RCCG in every family of all nations.
- To accomplish No. 1 above, holiness will be our lifestyle.
- To accomplish No. 2 and 3 above, we will plant churches within 5 minutes walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and 5 minutes driving distance in that of developed countries.
- We will pursue these objectives until every nation in the world is reached for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Specific (Relating to the local Church and context)
- The Church shall be a house of prayer for all nations, a centre of godly revival and move of God, the Holy Spirit.
- We shall preach Jesus Christ to the world, not only by the spoken word but also by our lifestyle.
- We shall make disciples of all nations, and
- We shall preach the Love of Christ.
